Other top athletes racing in Bermuda’s MS Amlin World Triathlon on Saturday April 28th include Olympic medallist Vicky Holland from Great Britain and current World Triathlon Series Leader Rachel Klamer from the Netherlands, who also won the first race of this year’s series in Abu Dhabi.

Other recognisable names are Katie Zaferes [USA], Kirsten Kasper [USA], Summer Cook [USA], Jodie Stimpson [GBR] and Melanie Santos [POR]. The current list of female elite starters is here.

Among the male elite starters are Olympic medallists Jonathon Brownlee of Great Britain and Henri Schoeman of South Africa, who is also the current World Triathlon Series Leader. The current list of male elite starters is here

Phil Schmidt, Chairman of World Triathlon Bermuda said: “I’m pleased to see that already 54 male and 32 female professional athletes have registered from 29 different countries.

“They will travel to Bermuda from all around the world including Great Britain, Ireland, USA, Canada, Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, Germany, Israel, Slovakia, and Barbados.”

In addition to the elite line-up, amateur competitors will participate in the Age Group race the morning of Saturday April 28th. Locals who are keen to take up the challenge are encouraged to register online. The Age Group race covers part of the same course that Flora Duffy and the elites will race in the afternoon, which includes the signature bike course of riding up Corkscrew Hill.

Local participants can enter either as individuals or in a Team Relay. Online registration [www.tribermuda.com/enter_now] closes this Saturday April 7th. The shorter, Sprint Distance team relay is open to ages 14+ and consists of two or three people racing a 750m swim, 20km bike and a 5km run course.

World Triathlon Bermuda organisers encourage all locals who are not participating in the race or volunteering, to come and line the streets, supporting Flora Duffy and the many visiting international athletes.
